FAQ's
How many photographs can you shoot in a day?
This is completely dependent on the brief and the different setups involved. It can range from 6 photographs a day to 50.
How many photographs can you edit in one day?
This is entirely brief dependent and would be down to many different factors such as the state of the packaging, the complexity of the idea, reflections, marks, colour grading, changing backgrounds etc. It can range from 1 - 20 images per day.
What is the difference between editing and retouching?
For how I work, I use 'photo editing' as an umbrella term that covers a range of editing techniques used to enhance an image, such as adjusting colour, contrast, and exposure, cropping, and resizing. Photo editing also covers any more creative and complex edits, export requirements, image sizes/dimensions, spot/mark removal and anything else that is needed to make the image perfect.
What if I want a different license to what you offer in your rates?
I only include an online license for five years with my basic photography rate. For any additional licenses, this will be a further fee which will be discussed with you.
When can we shoot?
I normally have a waiting time of 6-8 weeks so please get in touch as soon as you would like to do a shoot so I can get you booked in.
What about backgrounds and props?
I have a range of backdrops and props already at no extra cost but if there are any particular props or backgrounds that will be needed, this will be an additional cost.
Do you work with Stylists?
Yes absolutely! I love to work with either a Food Stylist or Prop/Cosmetic Stylist with studio shoots as it gives me time to focus on the photography and lighting but I do understand this is an additional cost and may not fit in within your budget.
Can I come to a home shoot?
For all home shoots, the client is not present. I will provide you with a link to a dropbox folder on the day which will be updated as I am going with options for feedback during the day.
If we had our own Retoucher, is it possible just to have the photography?
Absolutely. I split my photography and retouching rates for this reason. If you do not require any retouching then all raw photographs will be given to you straight after the shoot. These would not be edited at all and provided in a RAW format.
How many retouching amendments do I get within a project?
I offer two rounds of amends but I do ask that all amends are sent to me within 7 days of the photograph delivery as I have other projects going on and will need to schedule in time.
How long does it take to have all the photographs delivered?
This is entirely dependent on the brief and the amount of time needed to retouch. I also may be working on other projects at the same time so it is important to give me a clear idea at the time of the enquiry when the photographs will be needed by.
Do we have to pay a deposit?
I do not ask for a deposit but I ask all clients for every project to read and my terms and conditions prior to the shoot and sign my booking form.
Would we source additional props and backgrounds or you?
If any props or backgrounds are quite particular and difficult to find then I would suggest the client sources them if a Prop / Set Stylist is not involved. I am happy to also source but a prep cost would be included in the quote.
What if we have time to shoot extra photographs on the shoot day?
This is not a problem but an extra photo editing cost will incur.
